Tales from Geneva (Part 2)

How could we top our first day in Geneva? Well, we gave it our best effort in meeting with a few amazing independent brands: Edelberg - Haute Manufacture, MCT (Manufacture Contemporaine du Temps), and Ludovic Ballouard.

On this beautiful sunny day, we met with Carlo Naldi, founder of Edelberg, for an Italian lunch at an outdoor cafe at Place du Molard. To say that Carlo has an electric personality would be a vast understatement. We shared our passions around our respective brands, as well as several laughs along the way--all while plotting for a lasting partnership. Edelberg is renowned for their Swiss made pens, which fuse traditional watchmaking features like SuperLuminova with modern materials such as carbon fiber and PVD coatings.

Then, we were off for a brisk walk thru Geneva's historic Vieille Ville or Old Town district, where we had the opportunity to meet with CEO, Francois Candolfi and the team at MCT. They graciously ran through their stunning collection, whose in-house movement and refined craftsmanship clearly show the passion MCT has for its craft.

We wrapped up our day with a visit to the workshop of a true genius, Ludovic Ballourd. Like our mutual friend Carlo Naldi, Ludovic was not short on personality or sense of humor. What a great time getting to know this master watchmaker, who was once responsible for the development of the famed OPUS XIII for Harry Winston.  His current collection is highlighted by the Upside Down and  Half-Time, which both feature very unique and innovative displays.

Another big day!
